Concrete work in Mint Hill
Mint Hill keeps more of its semi-rural character than most of eastern Mecklenburg, and the concrete work reflects that. Lots are larger, driveways are longer, and a meaningful share of what we pour here is not attached to the house at all — slabs for detached garages, workshops, equipment storage, pole barns and hobby buildings.
Long driveways bring their own considerations. A 150-foot approach crosses more variation in soil and drainage than a suburban 40-footer, so base preparation has to be consistent along the entire run rather than good near the road and improvised further in. Joint layout matters more too — panels need to stay reasonably square rather than long and narrow, or the slab will crack across the middle of each section regardless of how well it was poured.
For outbuilding slabs we pay particular attention to thickness and reinforcement, because these floors often end up holding far more than originally planned — a vehicle lift, a tractor, heavy shelving, a workshop's worth of equipment. It is much cheaper to pour six inches with rebar now than to discover four inches was not enough later.
Mint Hill is 11 miles from our base, so scheduling is easy and estimates are quick.
