MJ Concrete Construction Pro LLC is owned and run by Elias Moreno, and concrete is all we do. Foundations, sidewalks, walls, rebar and driveways — five specialties, done to one standard, across Charlotte, Gastonia and roughly 30 miles in every direction.

That focus matters more than it sounds. Concrete is unforgiving in a way most trades are not: once it is placed, almost nothing can be corrected. You cannot go back and compact the base. You cannot reposition rebar that ended up at the bottom of a slab. You cannot add the drainage you skipped behind a retaining wall. Every decision that determines whether a pour lasts thirty years or six is made before the truck arrives.

So that is where we put our attention. We excavate to depth and compact crushed stone in lifts rather than dumping and levelling it. We set steel on chairs at the specified height instead of hooking it up mid-pour. We build drainage behind every wall — angular stone, filter fabric, a perforated pipe that actually daylights somewhere. We cut control joints at correct spacing within the first day. And we cure properly, with blankets in winter and covering in summer heat, because concrete does not dry, it cures.

None of that is visible in a finished job, which is exactly why it is the first thing a cheaper bid removes. When you compare quotes, the difference between them is almost always thickness, base, reinforcement or drainage — the four things you will never see again once the concrete is down.
